Brief Overview

Monoammonium phosphate is created by combining phosphoric acid and ammonia solution. Monoammonium phosphate, also known as ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, is a major component in the food and fertilizer sectors. Tetragonal crystal prism is the crystal structure of monoammonium phosphate. Because of its crystal structure, ammonium dihydrogen phosphate is widely employed in the optical industry. Monoammonium phosphate typically contains P2O5 (52%), and ammoniacal nitrogen (11%).

Manufacturing Process

A 1:1 reaction between ammonia and phosphoric acid produces a slurry of monoammonium phosphate, which is used in the commercial manufacturing of the substance. The monoammonium phosphates are subsequently solidified using the granulator. Monoammonium phosphate can be created by a 1:1 reaction between ammonia and phosphoric acid in a pipe cross reactor. The heat generated by this reaction hardens the monoammonium phosphate product and evaporates water.

Agricultural Industry

Compound fertilizers, bulk blending fertilizers, and organic complex fertilizers are all made with a lot of monoammonium phosphate. It takes monoammonium phosphate to maintain healthy plant growth.

Other Applications

Monoammonium phosphate is used in ceramics, enamels, fireproofing applications, dry fire extinguisher powders, and fermentation processes.
